We here at Axis will help your key resources understand the Agile methodology and how to adopt it. We offer trainings to our customers — customized for their need — to execute projects using the Agile methodology, so that their customers are happy.
Agile Delivery, the methodology for executing software project, is composed of short iterations — typically 2-4 weeks. Each delivers a small vertical slice of the features that will be demonstrated to the customer to confirm progress and direction at the end of each iteration. The scope of the release is set at a planning meeting, which will set the dates, duration and scope of each iteration.
The scope of an Agile Delivery is defined as a set of user stories that are provided by CUSTOMER. The user stories contain the acceptance criteria that are used to define the completion of the work. The testing must be automated and evidence of regularly passed tests is the primary measure of progress. The CUSTOMER must provide a ranking of the user stories so that the supplier will know what user stories will bring the biggest benefit to CUSTOMER.
Progress of an Agile Delivery is reported daily via a brief voice conference and (at least) weekly in a burn down chart showing completed tasks and estimates for remaining scoped work.
All deliverables, including the updated user stories and tasks, will be stored in a shared, single-version-controlled repository (i.e. Borland Star Team), which will be hosted by the CUSTOMER. The supplier will be given access whereas all deliverables, including tests and test results, must be available through the repository.
Agile vs. Waterfall
I have been waiting twenty-five years for this technology to arrive! This is really going to drive down our operational costs by allowing us to use fewer people at the data entry level and ultimately at the verification level too. In addition to the benefits going forward, the system also has the ability to take stale data and have it converted into the new system. We had a plant that we capped a few years ago but continued to buy the electronic images from the County….
“We now offer an innovative and high-tech solution to our clients. The system is faster and more efficient than our previous solution. It results in faster responses from the customers and quicker responses to their inquiries. The result: our portal moves the process along faster, and everyone wins. We are delighted with the quality of the work Axis had delivered; their implementation has indeed performed on the vision we had for our solution.”
